Screen savers are small programs that pop up within the operating system whenever the pc or laptop becomes idle. The screen savers were originally designed to protect a computer monitor from phosphor burn-in. These are used to make pixels in the display. This particular element glows at a certain rate and for a long period of time these could discolor the glass surface of the monitor. This is what we see as a faint image in the monitor. But through time, these screensavers transformed into another form of entertainment application. Developers modified the concept and made it rather, Cool!
